Import your iTunes into Library
Pierre Châtel is developing a free application that catalogs your iTunes music in Delicious Library. It's still early in development at version 0.2, but currently it imports album, artist, and track information. With one click, DeliciTunes scans the iTunes playlist of your choice and groups together songs that you own on the same CDs and adds those CDs to your library, all in a matter of seconds. You can learn more and download the application here.

Thank God. A life saver.
Ebay please!!!?
i know i know, we Ebay freaks,,, can u do a :SELL on EBAY" command too? or another suggestion.. make a home inventory library too based on printable or commercially available barcode stickers and sticking them to any item at ur house (ie: paintings, computers, vases, blenders, or even clothes in ur closet-thats been forgotten about?...etc?") I'll donate my time to making the artworks if you like (furniture icons, wines, electronic stuff, kitchenware or maybe the dresses) possibilities are endless! i'd like to see the clothes i have available for mix & matching.. all on my computer instead of going into the closet digging it all up! (webcam captured & printed on a hanging label with barcode stuck to ur hanger) how fancy can that be?!! Oprah, watch out for those unused gowns!! here we come! `````geronimo@telus.net
What's about Info.cidb file located in ~/Library/Preferences/ ?
All audio CDs ever put in you Mac are stored by iTunes in the CD Info.cidb file in the Preferences folder without importing any tracks.
This file contains much more information about a CD collection than iTunes.
That program is way too slow, you guys need to build that into Library. Same with NetFlix! The music feature in Library is great, but we're in 2005, almost everyone's music library is digital. You guys need really great iTunes integration. I think it would be awesome to see what your iTunes library LOOKS like.
hey, guys, you must be very busy codin', you have not update this blog, the one I enjoy very much to read :)
how is 1.5, 2.0 and the new apps coming?
Cool util. Might I sugges another feature? How about exporting a library to the web, in a formatted HTML page? Even make it "skinnable" with CSS. That's a must for me, as I want to publish what I own for relatives. Sort of like an Amazon wish list -- "don't buy me any of this stuff!"

It's nice to be able to drag pictures into the artwork field, but I'd like to be able to drag them out. A lot of my MP3s don't have artwork and this would be an easy way to remedy that: just drag the picture from DL to the iTunes artwork field.
Even nicer: an automated process that scans all music files in the iTunes library, and if they don't already have artwork add the picture from DL (if available).
It would also be nice if DL used a real database engine and stored its info in a single file. I would like to be able to work with separate libraries in separate files.
Hi !
thanks for the article on your blog :-)
about the the speed of the app, i know it's waaay to slow. In fact, it's not coming DeliciTunes itself, rather from the framework i'm using to analyze the itunes library xml file. If i'm able to find a more efficient library i'm sure it will considerably boost the execution speed.
As for artwork auto-import i'm open to any suggestion. It seems the artwork is embedded in the mp4 files so i'll have to find a way to extract it from the music files.
hey guys - any way to catalog periodicals and their contents using this tool? As a designer, I have a pretty large collection of back issues of design publications for reference/inspiration. Would be really cool to know what's in each issue...
Guys: You're doing a great job! Please continue.
One nice to have feature should be to be able to choose from which amazon website (.com, .co.uk, .fr...) you want to update information of already existing items...
guys this like the coooooooooooooooooolest app, the problem is i can't import from amazone my french books
this no longer works!!!!
not fair :(
